GPS (God's Positioning System)

By Thelma Owens
When I began to use the GPS (Global Positioning System) for my travels, I thought "this is great there's no way you can get lost or confused with this contraption".

When I began to use the GPS (Global Positioning System) for my travels, I thought "this is great there's no way you can get lost or confused with this contraption". If you get off track just a little it will recalculate and get you where you need to be. "No Problem". This system will turn you around if you are backed in a corner or if you turn down the wrong street it gets you right back on course.

As I begin to think about the letters GPS, right away a thought came to mind. "Hmm, GPS- could I say God' Protected Services or better yet God's Positioning System". I began to compare the two in several ways, the Global Positioning System and God's Positioning System. First, God leads and guides us into a straight path and if we get off course; He always gets us back on track if we will just heed and follow directions.

Something else I discovered about the GPS is that unlike Christ it's not 100% perfect. God's Positioning System is most assuredly without flaws. As I traveled on a stretch of highway my GPS told me to exit off a certain street and I would be at my destination, of coarse the street it told me to exit off of was the name of another street so, I passed it by, the next thing I knew I heard the voice from the GPS say "Recalculating", what does this mean? That nothing is sound proof except the direction of the Holy Spirit. Trust in the Lord today with all your heart, mind and soul and lean not to your own understanding but in all thy ways acknowledges Him and He shall direct your path.
